Apple Crisp Skillet

A gluten free and healthier apple crisp to enjoy this fall! We went to a local farm and picked up freshly picked apples for this recipe. It is truly farm to table!

Apple Crisp Skillet

Ingredients

APPLE FILLING
CRISP TOPPING

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Grease an iron skillet (or baking dish) with oil
  3. Peel, core and thinly slice apples
  4. In a large bowl, add apples, maple syrup, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix together until apples are evenly coated
  5. Pour apple filling into skillet or baking dish. Set aside
  6. In another bowl, add all topping ingredients except butter and mix together. Once mixed evenly, add butter. Mash butter in with flour and oat mixture until it’s a crumbly consistency.
  7. Sprinkle over apple filling evenly.
  8. Bake in over for 40-50 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool and enjoy with vanilla ice cream
